PMD Legalisation Update #4 - Out of Control Fines! We Need Your Support

Recently, a teenager in Darwin was fined $316 for riding his electric scooter in an area where public hire e-scooters are readily and legally available. Meanwhile in Sydney, an electric skateboard rider was fined $697 for riding an “uninsured motor vehicle”. All across various Facebook groups, we are seeing posts from riders who have received warnings or fines from the police.

ERA and Industry Partners Meet with Senator Andrew Bragg

Today Willoughby City Councillor Brendon Zhu met with Federal Senator Andrew Bragg to discuss the legalisation campaign on behalf of our members. Senator Bragg was open to our campaign and made a commitment to make a representation on our behalf to the Federal Transport Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack MP. Senator Bragg even tried an e-scooter for the first time!

In addition to our radio interview, we have helped organise a meeting between Trent Zimmerman MP, Ben from Ben Buckler Boards and Stephen from Zipidi Electric Scooters, leading to a positive discussion about the legalisation campaign.
